  • The article describes the results of the sampling procedure as far as "Rentnerhaushalte" and "Pensionärshaushalte" are concerned. A "Rentnerhaushalt" is defined by the fact that the person with the highest income in the household receives the greatest share of his or her income from statutory pension insurance due to his or her former employment. This applies respectively to superannuations for public servants ("Pensionärshaushalt"). Nearly 15,000 households participated in the sampling procedure, so that the analysis is based on a considerable amount of data. In order to balance a possible bias from the quota sample, the results of the inquiry have been projected on the one percent random sample of the Mikrozensus (census on a representation basis). Thus, it was possible to achieve data that represents 1.2 million Pensionärshaushalte and 10.3 million Rentnerhaushalte. Regarding that most of these households were one- or two-person households (5.3 million resp. 4.4 million), the author concentrates on the material living conditions of this group. (xsd:string)
