?:abstract
  • Historical events which have major implications for a country can, without a doubt, influence party politics. According to historical institutionalism, such critical junctures, which create new cleavages or destroy or reform existing ones, generate new trajectories for the politics of a country. Politics then follows new norms and practices for a considerable time – so-called path dependency – until new critical junctures redefine politics. (xsd:string)
