?:abstract
  • Is there a cultural component to attitudes towards the distribution of the tax burden? In this article, I draw on the literature around tax culture to argue that this might be the case. This idea is tested using data from the “Migrants’ Attitudes towards Welfare” (MIFARE) survey of eight migrant groups in the Netherlands, Denmark and Germany. The results demonstrate that a part of attitudes towards the distribution of the tax burden can be explained by attitudes towards the same subject in the origin country. The results further show that this effect is stronger for migrants who were older when they migrated. (xsd:string)
