?:abstract
  • Considers research on the centrality of work in the lives of Europeans & evaluates the extent to which changes associated with postindustrial development have impacted work values. Drawing on data from the European Values Systems Study Group surveys, two hypotheses are tested: that employees are becoming more demanding of their employers, & that they are expecting greater personal involvement in their work. Research by International Survey Research, Ltd, is drawn on to investigate the way in which organizations are developing values at both the corporate & individual levels. (xsd:string)
