?:abstract
  • Today, the most important reason for working poverty is the increase in the risk of poverty in individuals participating in employment. In this context, while working poverty is evaluated in terms of household type and characteristics, the individual’s personal characteristics, labor market indicators, and institutional factors are also important factors in determining working poverty. The aim of this study is to examine working poverty from the perspective of 27 European Union (EU-27) member states and Turkey. In this study, working poverty in EU-27 countries and Turkey was evaluated with the help of Eurostat data and research reports for 2012, 2015, 2018 and 2020. It was found that there is a difference between the age, gender, household characteristics, education level, type of employment, type of employment contract and work intensity data of Turkey and the EU-27 countries average. In this context, both the AB-27 country average and in Turkey; It has been found that men have a risk of working poverty than women. Moreover according to the data of 2020, the risk of working poverty by education level tends to decrease as the level of education increases in the EU-27 countries average and in Turkey. (xsd:string)
