The start of the COVID-19 pandemic (in 2020) was accompanied by drastic cuts and changes in habits, in all areas of life, which also posed great challenges for social and health care providers, as well as their clients and employees. At three points in time, always about three months apart, executives (n = 84), employees (n = 729) and clients (n = 712) in a large Upper Austrian social enterprise (pro mente ooe) were qualitatively and quantitatively surveyed about effects and challenges during the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic. The results show that work processes were permanently changed as a result of the early internal confrontation with the drastic changes. This ensures reliable care and crisis prevention.
