?:abstract
  • Contrary to the conclusions of the previous chapter, the authors only find small differences between members of national parliaments and of the EP in terms of their attitude towards Europe. Nevertheless, alternative explanations for the existence of such differences are tested, and the European Parliament is found to exercise a rapid, though gentle, socializing effect on its new members. The near‐identical political processes under examination apparently lead to near‐identical representation, and this is taken to be an indication of the health of EU democracy. (xsd:string)
