  • This article is devoted to the formation and development of the German Green party. "The Greens" began their activities with the formation of small local environmental groups, which by the 1980s had united into a single political party and began to actively participate in the political life of the country. Initially, the party positioned itself as an "alternative" to existing traditional political forces, which was clearly reflected not only in their proposed initiatives, but also in the appearance, behavior and manner of speech of party members. However, over time, "the Greens" began to move towards "systemic" integration into the political life of Germany, and the status of "marginal opposition" disappeared. During its existence, the party has put forward hundreds of different initiatives and issued a number of program documents to improve the environmental situation and the socio-economic system of Germany. These initiatives have found a positive response among the country’s population, which in recent years has had a positive impact on the dynamics of the party’s popularity and made it one of the main socio-political forces in the country.
