  • A false job advert claiming that South African retail chain PEP Stores is hiring for December holiday jobs is circulating on Facebook . The ad claims that the job comes with free training end of October. PEP does not advertise jobs on Facebook Monica McLoughlin, digital experience manager at PEP Stores, told Africa Check that the advert is fake. Please note the post is indeed a Fake. PEP does not advertise vacancies on Facebook. The PEP careers website does not show any vacancies specifically for December. Advice on real job adverts When previously contacted by Africa Check over another scam, recruitment consultant with MPC Recruitment Group , Roxanne Oosthuizen, advised job seekers to look for a few important things on a job advert. Credible job adverts should have a reference number indicated and a valid email address or contact number of the agent or company representative. People can also call the actual firm and speak to their human resources representatives or internal recruitment team. – Lloyd Hazvineyi (en)
