Messages shared on WhatsApp and Facebook in Nigeria claim the Nigerian automobile manufacturer Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing (IVM) is giving away vehicles to celebrate its 15th anniversary. One user shared a screenshot of what appears to be a notification that they had won a luxury vehicle. The post read , partly in Pidgin: Abeg make una help me thank Innoson vehicles Nigeria LTD. They said I won this powerful car as they mark 15th anniversary. Someone should please tell me how to redeem my prize. Congratulations to me. I hope it's not fake news oo. Are these rumours of IVM’s birthday generosity true? We checked. Beware of scams IVM debunked the social media posts in a statement published on their website and Facebook page , saying they were fraudulent. It said : Members of the public are hereby notified that Innoson does not and will not require anybody to respond to such questionnaire in the name of winning a raffle. All activities of our company is on our official website.
