A Facebook post claims that South African engineering and construction group Murray and Roberts is hiring. The post says the company is looking for general workers with a grade 10 education, and offers salaries of R8,000 to R15,00. Applicants are asked to comment YES so they can be inboxed a fax number. The post includes a link to a page where people can supposedly apply online. But the link does not take you to the official Murray and Roberts website. Instead, you are taken to a website with a number of job listings. If you click on any of the jobs on offer, you are taken to yet another website . None of the sites have anything to do with Murray and Roberts. ‘We do not advertise on Facebook’ All our recruitment is done through our online site, Eduard Jardim, group investor and media executive at Murray and Roberts, told Africa Check. We do not advertise on Facebook but often online job posting sites will crawl the web looking for job postings and share them on their site, he said. We certainly do not use fax numbers and we dont ‘inbox’ people more details. The job ad is fake. – Africa Check
