  • For some time now, job adverts have been posted on the Facebook group page QUICKMART SUPERMARKET . The posts claim that the Kenyan supermarket Quickmart is recruiting people as, for example, supervisors, drivers, cashiers, receptionists, messengers, attendants, security officers and cleaners. The page has more than 15,000 members. One recent advert , headed QUICKMART SUPERMARKET 2021 FRESH RECRUITMENT, claims there are vacant positions countrywide. It includes the contact details for what it says are the recruitment and human resources officers. While the adverts appear to have been posted by different Facebook users, all have the same contact information. The users who post the ads have admin roles for the group. Terms like mass recruitment , countrywide recruitment , 2021 fresh recruitment and jobs notice are frequently used on the page. None of the ads appear on the supermarket's verified Facebook page . Are the adverts genuine? Is the page run by Quickmart? ‘Don't be fooled’ Africa Check sent the link to the page to Quickmart and asked if the ads were theirs. Please disregard any job related posts that are not on the Quickmart website or our official social media pages, the company told us. Any job openings shall be announced on our social media pages and website. Stay alert; don't be fooled. (en)
