  • Example: [Collected on the Internet, 2001] My close friend, Wendy Bott, has been missing since Tuesday night (June 12).The circumstances surrounding her disappearance are strange, and at this time there are no solid leads as to what happened. That's why we could use your help. Please send the attached flyer to everyone in your email address book. Because we have no idea what happened, from our perspective she could be anywhere. So we're NOT limiting this flier's exposure only to Los Angeles, or only to the entertainment industry. For those who do not know Wendy, she is originally from Chicago, and has been a freelance writer/producer for FX and other networks for over six years. She is also currently in post production for anindependent film she co-wrote and co-directed.We appreciate your help in getting out the word. Thanks, Jeff PayneOrigins: Los Angeles filmmaker Wendy Bott was last seen alive on 12 June 2001. The circumstances surrounding her disappearance were odd indeed — she was last seen by a friend around 8 p.m. that evening when she indicated she was on her way to a certain restaurant for another friend's birthday party. She never made it. Her family reported her missing the next day. Her car was discovered a few days later — it had been abandoned about 15 miles from her home. Her cellular phone and purse were found inside the locked vehicle. No signs of a struggle were present nor were there any blood splatters. On 21 June 2001, a man walking his dog found the decomposing body of a woman in a vacant, overgrown field about a mile from where Bott's car had been left. The woman appeared to have died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. A gun, a box of ammunition and a black bag were found next to the body. On 26 June 2001, the Los Angeles County coroner's office confirmed the identity of the deceased as Wendy Bott. Police ruled out foul play and said the death appeared to have been a suicide. (en)
