Origins: In 2002, Sabrina Fair Llorens Allen was a blonde five-year-old girl from Austin, Texas, who disappeared during a visit with her non-custodial mother, Dara Marie Llorens, over the weekend of 19-21 April 2002. Authorities believed Ms. Llorens had abducted Sabrina and was headed for the state of New Mexico or had tried to take Sabrina across the border into Mexico. Additional photographs and information about Sabrina and the efforts to locate her were posted on the Find Sabrina web site, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) web site, Sabrina's entry at the National Center of Missing and Exploited Children, and the web site of America's Most Wanted television program. On 13 June 2003, over a year after Sabrina's disappearance, the FBI announced that Sabrina Allen and her mother, Dara Marie Llorens, had been taken into custody by federal authorities in Mexico City, but apparently they were only under surveillance (not in custody) and managed to elude authorities and remain at large. In September 2014, news outlets reported that Sabrina and her mother had been located by authorities in a small town southeast of Mexico City and had been returned to the U.S.: Sabrina Allen has been missing since she was allegedly abducted by her non-custodial mother in 2002.
