  • A photo has been shared thousands of times in Facebook posts that claim it shows a mosque in Bangladesh that was vandalised by Hindus in a spate of religious unrest in October 2021. The posts are misleading; the picture has circulated in reports from 2016 about a mosque that was targeted in the city of Cumilla, although there have been no official reports on the identity of the vandals. The photo was published here on October 13 in a Facebook post shared more than 38,000 times.
