The post features a photo of yoghurt and persimmons. The same message was also shared via Line on November 13, 2020. A similar claim was shared here , here , here and here in Thai, and here , here , here and here in Chinese. The claim, however, is false. Health experts said that there is no scientific evidence which suggests eating persimmons, yoghurt and bananas together is poisonous for your body. Dr. Kanitha Tananuwong , an associate professor at Chulalongkorn University’s Department of Food Technology told AFP the claim is completely untrue. In response to the claim, she told AFP during a phone conversation on November 16. 2020: This is completely untrue. They are not poisonous. There is no scientific evidence to suggest that eating persimmons with yoghurt and banana are harmful to your body. Pattira Yinglertratanakul, a specialised medical scientist at Thailand’s Department of Health, Ministry of Public Health also told AFP on November 17, 2020 via phone that eating the three food items together is not toxic for your body. The claim is false. Currently, there is no research supporting the harm of eating these three foods together, but they actually improve your digestive system, she said. However, due to the high level of sugar, you should eat only an appropriate amount.
