  • An often-shared image shows Bruce Lee, Jim Morrison and Jimi Hendrix sitting next to each other on a couch, with the tagline: You may be cool, but you’ll never be Bruce Lee, Jim Morrison, and Jimi Hendrix all hangin’ at the same freakin’ party – or some similar sentiment . But did the iconic martial arts movie star , Doors frontman and legendary rock guitarist ever pose for this photo? There’s a simple way to check if the image has been altered or put together from different pics. Using the snipping tool – you can use any screen capture app – Africa Check cut the image in three and uploaded them separately to TinEye to see if there was an original photo for each. As it turns out, all three have been photoshopped into one image. According to Snopes , the base photograph for the montage is an image of Morrison, taken by Gloria Stavers, then editor-in-chief of 16 magazine, in the late 1960s. The image of Lee was snapped in 1972 as part of publicity shots at Ocean Terminal , Hong Kong’s first US-style mall. It was then photoshopped into the base image along with Hendrix. We haven’t been able to trace the source of the photo of Hendrix , but it does appear to be a signed polaroid picture of the musician that was digitally scanned at a later stage. While many fans would no doubt argue that a photo of these three icons of the sixties is the epitome of cool, it never happened. (en)
