  • US president Donald Trump said Nigeria is not getting any money if they do not present the people that tested positive for Covid-19 for us to confirm, claims an article on the site Habaklef Music . The 20 April 2020 article has been shared more than 1,500 times – and viewed more than 900,000 times – on Facebook. It quotes Trump as saying that about 1-7 Hospitals and states mentioned on the list have denied that they is no one there for Covid19 Treatments , So Therefor they will be no payment to Nigeria till we have the results our self. Trump promises Nigeria ventilators There is no publicly available evidence that Trump made any statement that the US would not give Nigeria any money unless its government presents the people who have tested positive for the new coronavirus for us to confirm. There is no mention of it on the US president’s social media In a phone call with president Muhammadu Buhari on 28 April, Trump did promise to send ventilators to Nigeria to support the country’s fight against the pandemic. We’re going to send at least 200 ventilators to Nigeria; probably more than that, Trump said . We also checked official press statements from the US presidency and found no quotes about the US wanting to give Nigeria money with that precondition. – Motunrayo Joel (en)
