The post links to a Google form . Here job seekers are asked to pay a KSh380 registration fee via the M-Pesa money transfer app to apply for the jobs. The job ad shows all the signs of scams Africa Check has exposed before – using a Google form for applications, and asking for a fee to be paid via M-Pesa . And the Facebook page Carrefour-Kenya was only set up on 12 November 2019 . ‘Recruitment through fake account’ On 28 November, Carrefour Kenya posted a screenshot of the job ad on its official Twitter page, with the word FAKE stamped on it in red. Our attention has been drawn to a recruitment post through a fake Carrefour Kenya Facebook account, the retailer tweeted . In the comments below the tweet, Carrefour explained more . We would like to notify the general public that Majid Al Futtaim Hypermarket Kenya Ltd (Carrefour Kenya) works with accredited agencies namely Flexi Personnel and Engin Solutions Limited for its recruitment services, it said . We also wish to clarify that Majid Al Futtaim Hypermarkets Ltd does not charge candidates any application fee and neither does the company handle interviews outside their branches.
