  • On 31 January 2015, the fake news web site Empire News published an article positing the body of a homeless man discovered in San Diego was found through DNA testing to be that of singer Elvis Presley. Five months later, the Richmond Globe followed up with a similar article positing that the body of a homeless man found dead behind a fast food restaurant in Kingston, Jamaica, was discovered through DNA testing to be that of famed reggae singer Bob Marley: This article was just as fake as the Elvis one it imitated, published on a site just as non-credible as Empire News. The Richmond Globe is not a newspaper site, but rather an entertainment site that mixes unsubstantial items with fake news reports such as the urban legend of a drug-using woman mistaking a baby for a turkey and cooking it in an oven and a mermaid's washing ashore in Hawaii.
