  • The Facebook page Unity Careers has posted a possible job offer at Simba , a food company that makes a popular South African brand of potato crisps. SIMBA IS HIRING DECEMBER NEW STAFF SEND YOUR CV the post says, adding that applicants must have a grade 9 to 12. The post says that Simba will offer a basic Salary of R7 500 pm and applicants can apply online here ? https://bit.ly/2ZbObwb . Is this a way for job-seekers to get a job at Simba or is it just another job scam? We investigated. ‘Goes against our community standards’ There are few red flags with this job opportunity. First, the page offers a link to the Unity Careers website, but when you click on the link from Facebook you get a warning saying the link goes against Facebook’s community standards. The link that is given to apply for the job takes job-seekers to a website, learnerships-sa , but users cannot actually directly apply for the job they can only leave a reply for the website. Another red flag is that the author of the Facebook page has commented asking people to share this post. Kindly Share this post in many facebook groups that you joined and tell others to share it, the post says. Be wary of posts that ask you to like or share job scams. Simba offers job opportunities on their website. – Taryn Willows (en)
