  • A graphic has been shared in multiple social media posts that claim it shows a genuine schedule issued by a Pakistani natural gas company, indicating supply in the country will be limited to certain hours of day in the winter months of 2021 . These posts are false; the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) whose logo appears in the graphic denied it issued the schedule. Pakistan's energy ministry said it had not decided on any such supply schedule as of December 13. The graphic was published on Facebook on November 15. Similar claims alongside the same schedule were also published here and here on Facebook. But the claims are false. Fabricated graphic SSGC denied it issued the graphic. The ministry said: Misleading news is being spread on various channels that gas will be provided to domestic consumers only three times a day. No such decision has been taken by the Ministry of Energy. Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited (SNGPL), the state-owned company that distributes gas in northern Pakistan, also denied it had issued any supply schedule for winter. The company said: Important Notice: No schedule has been issued by Sui Northern Gas regarding gas shutdown/supply hours. The information regarding the timetable of gas outage is incorrect. All stakeholders are requested to inform the public about the correct situation. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), the country's ruling party, said on Twitter : During the winter in the months of December and January there used to be very little gas supply or it used to disappear altogether in morning, noon and evening.
