Most states will soon set the clock forward by one hour thanks to daylight saving time. But a viral image being shared on social media claims this year’s spring forward will be spookier than most. Next week has a time change, full moon and Friday the 13th, reads the image, which was posted on Facebook on March 8 . This post was flagged as part of Facebook’s efforts to combat false news and misinformation on its News Feed. (Read more about our partnership with Facebook .) That’s because it’s not true. There is no Friday the 13th in March, and the full moon isn’t until the last week of the month. Daylight saving time starts on Sunday, March 14 . The full moon is on March 28 . And March 13 falls on Saturday. In March 2020, these three events did happen in the same week. Daylight saving time fell on Sunday, March 8 , the full moon was Monday, March 9 , and March 13 was a Friday. In 2021, though, no such luck. We rate this post False.
