  • BREAKING NEWS. The First Lady of Uganda, Janet Kataha Museveni has tested positive for #Covid-19 after Monday’s Cabinet meeting and has been admitted to Nakasero hospital, reads a screenshot of what seems to be a tweet by Uganda’s NBS Television . The screenshot has been circulating on Facebook since 15 June 2020. It goes on: Statehouse under Emergency Lockdown with the president feared to be isolated in the banker. Did NBS tweet that Janet Museveni , wife of Ugandan president Yoweri Museveni , had tested positive for Covid-19? ‘Treat it with contempt’ The tweet does not appear anywhere on NBS Television ’s verified Twitter account. And on 15 June NBS tweeted that the screenshot was fake. It said : #FightFakeNews: We are aware of a doctored screenshot making the rounds online of a purported tweet from us on the health of the First Lady of Uganda, Janet Kataha Museveni. This was NOT shared on any of our platforms. Kindly treat it with the contempt it deserves. On the same day, the Ugandan president’s press secretary Don Wanyama tweeted the screenshot with fake scribbled on it. This is totally fake. Please disregard and treat it with contempt, he said . – Grace Gichuhi (en)
