  • A photo shared on Facebook shows a remarkable skyscraper with the claim it is Tower One Hotel in Nakuru City Kenya. The same photo of a ship-shaped building on top of three tower buildings has also been shared here and here , with the same claim. On 1 December 2021, Kenyan president Uhuru Kenyatta awarded a charter to Nakuru municipality, making it the fourth city in Kenya. But is this photo of a hotel in Nakuru? We checked. Hotel in Singapore An image reverse search revealed that the photo is of the famous Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, Southeast Asia. According to the building’s official website , the Marina Bay Sands features more than 2,500 hotel rooms and suites across its three cascading hotel towers, and an extraordinary rooftop Sands SkyPark with an Infinity Pool. A similar claim was shared in Kenya in early 2020 – while Kenyans would like to claim the impressive structure as their own, there is no truth to this. The photo shared on Facebook is of a Singapore building, not a hotel in Nakuru, Kenya. (en)
