  • An ad posted on the Facebook page Fresha Jobs Kenya on 4 November 2019 claims the company Fresha Dairy Brands is looking to hire people to staff a new factory in Nairobi. It says jobs are available for secretaries, security guards, shop attendants, cashiers, drivers, loaders, cleaners, store keepers, and distributors. But there’s a catch. The post links to a web page with an application form. Job seekers are asked to fill out the form, and include a registration fee of KSh300. The fee, it says, is required and is REFUNDABLE if you don’t qualify to get a job opportunity. The page adds : ONLY APPLICANTS WHO HAVE PAID REGISTRATION FEE WILL BE CONSIDERED AND CONTACTED. Are these jobs for real? ‘Con alert’ On 5 November, Fresha Dairy Brands issued a con alert on its official Facebook page, dismissing the ad as fake. Beware that Fresha Dairy Brands does not own nor have any association with the attached Facebook page; ‘Fresha Jobs Kenya’ purporting to recruit on our behalf, the alert reads . Githunguri Dairy Farmers Co-operative Society, owners of the Fresha Dairy Brands does not charge for recruitment. Current openings are always updated on our official website www.fresha.co.ke and official Facebook page Fresha Dairy Brands. – Grace Gichuhi (en)
