  • The Facebook page Employment Opportunities posts dozens of messages offering jobs at South African companies – Woolworths, Sasol, Mr Price, Clover and more. And as the Covid-19 crisis continues, it even offers jobs at the national health department and hospitals . Some posts say people with or without matric can apply and get a monthly salary of R5,000. Dodgy website full of ads But all the job offers have one thing in common: they link to the website jobscamp.co.za . Africa Check recently investigated the Facebook page and found it was using fake job ads to lure people to the site. The site is full of pop-up ads that earn the website owner money from views and clicks. And the website doesn’t give any real way for people to apply for a job. The whole thing is a scam. When you see a job advertised on Facebook, make sure that any link provided takes you to an official employment or company website. – Africa Check (en)
