  • An image shows a woman wearing a protest sign that says my legs are open for refugees. The image has been digitally altered. It is a pre-made Amnesty International sign saying my door is open for refugees. A post on Facebook showing a woman wearing a sign saying my legs are open for refugees is not real. The image has been digitally altered. The original sign is a pre-made one distributed by Amnesty International, saying my doors are open for refugees. After Nigel Farage tweeted (then deleted) the image last year, a Canadian journalist said that she’d taken the original picture in Canada in 2015 for a news website. We’ve written about this image before, in our blog on how to spot misleading images. This article is part of our work fact checking potentially false pictures, videos and stories on Facebook. You can read more about this—and find out how to report Facebook content—here. For the purposes of that scheme, we’ve rated this claim as false as it’s not a real sign. (en)
