  • A video has been viewed more than half a million times in multiple posts on Facebook and YouTube in alongside a claim that it shows a palm tree floating in the air in a miracle of Allah. The claim is false; the video has circulated online since at least 2018 in reports about a palm tree being lifted by a crane. The video was shared in this Facebook post on February 12, 2019. The video has been viewed more than 469,000 times and shared more than 22,000 times. Screenshot of misleading Facebook post The Urdu language caption translates to English as: The miracle of Allah. Date tree started flying in the air. Muslims should like this video, then share it. The 30-second video shows a rootless palm tree being dangled over a street while a narrator is heard reciting the name of Allah in Arabic. The video was also shared on Facebook here , here and here with a similar claim in Urdu. The video was also shared with a similar claim in English on YouTube here and here . The claim is false; the video has circulated online since at least 2018 in reports about a palm tree being lifted by a crane. A reverse image search on Google of a screenshot of the video found the same video here on YouTube published on the channel of licensing agency Viralpress on December 7, 2018. The video in the misleading posts is identical to the 31-second YouTube video, except for an additional second of footage in the YouTube clip.
