  • Did a Man Get Plastic Surgery and Change His Name to Circumvent a Restraining Order? Claim A New Jersey man changed his name and altered his features in order to circumvent a restraining order granted to his former girlfriend. Rating Not True Like this fact check? Reporting A December 2018 article headlined , Man gets plastic surgery and name change to date his ex-girlfriend after she obtains restraining order has appeared intermittently on social media after its publication. No obvious date appeared on the apparent news story, which claimed: A New Jersey man who went to great lengths to try and win back his ex-girlfriend despite a court restraining order was arrested this morning after his plot was discovered. 40-year old James Mack from Camden was condemned to six months in jail in 2017 for criminally harassing his former lover, but the sentence clearly didn’t dissuade him. Being under a restraining order that forbade him from contacting or approaching his ex, he began an extreme transformation in order to do it without getting caught. He legally changed his name to Jason Monroe, underwent 37 plastic surgeries to change his physical appearance and even had a delicate vocal cords operation to alter his voice. Sarah Lopez, Mr. Mack’s ex-girlfriend, says she had no idea it was him when she met him at her gym. According to the claim, New Jersey resident James Mack was jailed in 2017 for criminally harassing his former girlfriend. The page featured purported before and after photographs, the image on the right of the page supposedly showing Mack’s appearance after 37 plastic surgeries undertaken in an effort to bamboozle his ex-partner. But the same image was used in a 2017 Men’s Journal article about plastic surgery and men, and it was unrelated to the chain of events described in the December 2018 article. A secondary photograph labeled as Mack’s former girlfriend Sarah Lopez was a stock image . The story originated on the site World News Daily Report , a site where each page features a disclaimer at the bottom which reads: World News Daily Report assumes all responsibility for the satirical nature of its articles and for the fictional nature of their content. Florida is where wokes go to die... Please enable JavaScript Florida is where wokes go to die In addition to its falsified claim that a man changed his name and got plastic surgery to get around his former girlfriend’s restraining order, World News Daily Report made a number of similar outlandish claims. Among them were that a man spent $200,000 on plastic surgery to look like Jesus, a woman was arrested for leaving her children in the car for nine hours while she dined at a buffet, a pro-choice activist set records by obtaining 27 abortions , and that a Texas girl became pregnant due to a flu vaccination .
