  • An image that appears to show the front page of the Nairobian , a Kenyan weekly newspaper, is making the rounds on social media. The headline reads : Muigai’s wife Njeri files for divorce. The newspaper shows the dates 10 to 17 July 2020. The Nairobian is a weekly published every Friday. The musician John Muigai wa Njoroge was recently summoned by the National Cohesion and Integration Commission for one of his songs, which appears to target the political leadership in the country. But does the image circulating on Facebook show the 10 July front page of the Nairobian? We checked. Fake front page The actual 10 July issue of the newspaper in circulation carried the headline : Policeman engages school girl in pub. The Standard, the media house that publishes the Nairobian, also clarified that it was a fake front page and urged Kenyans to ignore it.
