The claim, however, is false: there have been no credible reports that Khan has died as of October 14, 2021. The hoax has circulated online since at least 2017. The photos show an old plane crash and funerals for two Indian actresses. The images were published on various websites including here on October 7, 2021. Part of the article translates to English as: The well-known Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan died in a plane crash. The misleading posts circulated online after the Bollywood superstar's son was arrested for a drugs related case on October 2, 2021. Reuters reported on the case here . The article was shared hundreds of times after being shared in multiple Facebook posts, including here . Similar claims have been shared on multiple websites here , here , here and here , alongside the same images. The claim, however, is false. The images all relate to old events. As of October 14, 2021, there are no credible reports that Khan has died. Similar hoaxes about Khan have circulated since at least 2017, as reported here by The Indian Express. Khan photos A reverse image search found the images of Khan are old. The first image was published here on the image-sharing website Peakpx. It was also shared here on a blog in 2012. The second image was included in this article published on November 23, 2016 by Indian entertainment website FilmiBeat. Aircraft image The third image was published in this article published on January 17, 2008 on a website called Aviation Accidents. The article is about a British Airways plane that crash-landed on the runway at London's Heathrow airport in 2008. The title reads: BRITISH AIRWAYS – BOEING – B777-236ER (G-YMMM) flight BA38. The accident was also reported here on the same day by the BBC.
