A post shared on Facebook claims former Twitter CEO, Parag Agrawal, was arrested for child porn. Verdict: False The claim stemmed from Vancouver Times, a website that describes itself as satirical. There is no evidence suggesting Agrawal has been arrested for such a crime. Fact Check: Piers Morgan is asking Elon Musk for help getting his Twitter back after hackers tweeted out slurs and tweets against the late queen, Queen Elizabeth II, on the account, Fox News reported. The company has also reportedly been sued by one of its landlords over unpaid rent, which has accumulated since Musk’s takeover, according to the New York Post . A Facebook post claims Agrawal has been arrested for possession of child porn. The post includes a link to a website called Vancouver Times. The executive was arrested at his home in California by the FBI, the post reads. The executive not only collected child abuse material off of Twitter and other social media platforms, he turned a blind eye to users that shared the same material on the social media platform. This claim is fabricated, however. There are no credible news reports to suggest that Agrawal was arrested for child porn. Likewise, no such announcement of an arrest has been made through the California Department of Justice website or social media accounts . The website’s About Us also identifies the website as satire, Vancouver Times is the most trusted source for satire on the West Coast. Check Your Fact has reached out to Twitter for comment and will update this piece accordingly if one is received. This is not the first time misinformation stemming from the Vancouver Times has spread online.
