An advert doing the rounds on Facebook in May 2022 claims that Proto Energy Limited , the company that makes ProGas cooking gas cylinders, is on a recruitment drive. PRO Gas industry is urgently looking for ambitious people who can work with us like drivers, storekeepers, manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, assistant managers, office administrators and receptionists, the advert reads . It claims that the pay will be KSh25,000 to KSh60,000 a month. The ad includes a WhatsApp number. It can be seen here , here , here , here and here . But are the job offers the real deal? We checked. All communication ‘through our official pages’ On 11 May, ProGas Kenya itself took to Facebook to warn that the advert was a scam. To our esteemed customers, we note with concern the below communication currently making rounds on social media. Please note that this is not an official communication from Proto Energy Limited and we are not running any such promotion, it said . All communication from us will come through our official pages @ProgasKenya and our website www.protoenergy.com. For more information call us Toll-Free on 0800 723 666.
