  • According to a screenshot of a document shared on Facebook, Ugandan DFCU Bank has shut down all branches in the capital Kampala after five employees tested positive for Covid-19 . The public notice is dated 27 August 2020. It says five staff members have been confirmed positive for Covid-19 and therefore management has decided to shut down all DFCU Bank branches in Kampala as a precautionary measure to all our customers and clients to mitigate the risk of further infection. The notice looks official and is signed Management. But was it really issued by DFCU Bank? ‘Fake notice’ On the same day, the DFCU Bank dismissed the claim on Twitter and urged the public to disregard the fake notice and treat it with the contempt it deserves.
