  • A now-deleted Facebook post claimed it could offer 3,400 jobs at Tuskys supermarkets throughout Kenya. The post linked to a Google Form , which is still live. The form, headed Tuskys supermarkets job application form, claims the company is looking to hire cleaners and guards, Technicians, receptionists, store keepers, cooks, distributors, marketers and more. Successful candidates are promised a salary of KSh18500 for interns, KSh28000 and KSh34500 and above for junior and senior staff. ‘Recruitment fee’ But the second page of the form says applicants must pay a registration fee of KSh450 to Dr Edward Mwangi, Head of Recruitment using the M-Pesa mobile money transfer app. It says people who don’t pay the fee will not be considered for the jobs. Job ads that ask for money are usually scams. We checked the careers section on the Tuskys website and found no advertised jobs. And a message on the supermarket chain’s job portal reads: We don’t have any job vacancies currently, follow our social media to get notified. Tuskys doesn’t charge for jobs Tuskys has debunked similar job offers in the past. Fake job alert posts purporting to be from Tuskys are in circulation both on social media and in form of google documents. Tuskys does not charge anything in exchange for employment, the company has warned. Open posts are advertised on the official Tuskys pages and applications made on www.tuskys.com . – Grace Gichuhi (en)
