A video shared on Facebook allegedly shows a botched parachute drop by Ugandan special forces during a celebration of the country’s independence day. Verdict: False The video shows Honduran paratroopers, not Ugandan special forces. Kainerugaba remains a military adviser to his father despite his ouster, the outlet reported. The Facebook video claims to show Ugandan special forces fumbling a parachute drop. The claim was also widely shared on Twitter , with one video receiving over 275,000 views and 350 retweets. The same soldiers that are visible in the video also show up in several other videos showcasing Honduran Independence Day. A video of the 40 paratroopers was shared on YouTube as well, with the four paratroopers’ dismal landing present. 40 paratroopers land at the José de La Paz Herrera stadium – September 15, 2022, reads the video’s title. Media outlets reported on the incident as well. CNN Español reported that parachutists landed in the public instead of the designated landing area. El Heraldo also published images of the paratroopers that match the ones seen in the Facebook video. D. Emery later made a correction to the claim.
