  • Multiple Facebook posts have shared a picture that they claim shows some of Indonesia’s best-known musicians declaring their support for President Joko Widodo’s 2019 re-election bid. The photo was actually taken three years ago and has no link to the election or politics. One of them was this January 31 post on the Facebook page Kerja Jokowi (Jokowi’s Works) which has been shared over 3,000 times. The page name references Widodo’s popular nickname. Screenshot of the misleading post. The post’s translated caption says: Iwan Fals and his friends are calling on Indonesians to unite to vote for the number ONE. Here, Iwan Fals says he supports Jokowi. How about you? Number 1 reflects the candidate’s quality. Number 2 means bogus. Fals is a popular Indonesian folk musician. In the Facebook image, he is the bespectacled man wearing a green cap in the center of the photograph. Number 1 refers to Widodo’s ballot number in upcoming April 2019 elections, while Number 2 is that of his sole challenger, Prabowo Subianto. A Google reverse image search found that the photograph was published on April 15, 2016, by Indonesian media outlet Tempo. Screenshot of the Tempo article with the original photo. The accompanying Tempo article was headlined: Iwan Fals collaborates with four Indonesian bands in his new album. According to the Tempo report, the photo actually shows Fals and four other top musicians posing after a press conference announcing a concert to officially release Fals’ new album titled SATU (ONE). The musicians who accompanied Fals in the image were, from left to right, Ariel of Noah band, Rian of D'masiv band, Giring of Nidji band and Momo of Geisha band. Fals’ music label, Musica Studio, announced on November 20, 2015, that the album's digital version was available on iTunes. Fals announced on Twitter on December 9, 2015, that his new album was available: To those who are interested in my new album Satu, you can buy it now in iTunes, thanks, he wrote. bagi yg berminat dgn album terbaru sy Satu silahkan bisa dibeli di iTunes, tks — Ureg2 ?
