A screenshot shows a tweet from Jeremy Corbyn saying the London Bridge attacker was murdered by British Police. The tweet is fake. Mr Corbyn did not say this. In the aftermath of the London Bridge attack on November 29, in which the attacker was shot dead by police, a fake tweet screenshot has circulated online, claiming to show that Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn tweeted that A man was murdered by British Police in Broad daylight. #LondonBridge. The tweet is fake, as many other news outlets have also reported. Mr Corbyn did not say this. The words do not appear on his Twitter timeline, and no such tweet was recorded by Politwoops, a service that archives deleted tweets by MPs. Mr Corbyn’s initial Twitter response to the London Bridge attack was actually the following tweet: Shocking reports from London Bridge. My thoughts are with those caught up in the incident.
