  • A Facebook page claims there is mass recruitment at the US Agency for International Development (USAid) in Kenya, with 3,200+ jobs available. The post links to a Google Form where job seekers are to apply. We are seeking to expand our regional offices and branches all over the 47 counties in Kenya, the form says . Those who will be shortlisted for jobs will be paid KSh 2,500 per day and those in hardship areas will get KSh 3,500 per day to be paid every day in the evening. But there’s a catch. All first time applicants must pay a registration fee of Ksh. 450. Clues the ad is fake Africa Check has previously debunked a similar version of this USAid job scam. The link and jobs offered do not appear anywhere on the USAid Kenya website , or on its Facebook and Twitter pages. And USAid Kenya has repeatedly said that it does not ask for money when people apply for jobs. ‘Beware of fraud’ USAid Kenya has stamped the advert fake and cautioned the public to beware of fraudsters. #Beware of fraud! USAID is not advertising over 3,000 job vacancies. This is a scam. Do not be a victim, it warns on its Facebook page . It also clarifies that it does not have offices in all of Kenya’s 47 counties. – Dancan Bwire (en)
