On September 9, Russia’s state-owned news agency RIA Novosti published a 9/11 anniversary analysis by its star journalist Viktoria Nikofirova. In it, the outlet made at least nine false or misleading claims about the September 11, 2001, terror attacks, in which 19 al Qaida terrorists hijacked four passenger planes.They flew two of the hijacked planes into the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York City and a third into the Pentagon.
