Neither the Imgur post nor the tweet included any additional information about Las Vegas and the mysterious black liquid situation. What little coverage there was suggested the issue was both highly localized and accurately described. On February 10 2022, Vegas-area news station KTNV published a segment to YouTube, titled No explanation for ‘mystery liquid’ falling from sky over neighborhood. The outlet also tweeted about the droplets on the morning of February 10 2022: Locals are worried that these mystery droplets falling from the sky for weeks could be toxic or harmful to their health. @seanktnv reports: https://t.co/ALnfNel9vK — KTNV 13 Action News (@KTNV) February 10, 2022 An attached article by KTNV, No explanation for ‘mystery liquid’ falling from sky over neighborhood, reported that residents of the Las Vegas neighborhood observed the mystery liquid falling from the sky over the previous three to four weeks: People in one Eastern Las Vegas neighborhood near Hollywood Blvd. and Charleston Ave. have been completely perplexed for weeks as mysterious brown or black droplets have fallen on their properties. KTNV spoke to one resident on camera, adding that others declined to be interviewed (but that they had corroborated the story.) Footage in the segment showed vehicles and structured marked by dark smudges: It could be grease? Oil? The outlet reported that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) did not respond to a request for comment, adding: The Nevada Department of Conservation referred a KTNV request to the Division of Environmental Protection and the DEP hadn’t responded to inquiry by publication.
