Is the Ford-Kenya political party officially changing more of its leadership? A document posted on Facebook on 9 June 2020 appears to be a legal notice from the country’s registrar of political parties , published in the official Kenya Gazette . It announces the replacement of three officials in the party. Two rival factions are currently in a tussle for leadership of Ford-Kenya, the Forum for the Restoration of Democracy – Kenya . The post came a day after the registrar did publish a legal notice announcing the Ford-Kenya was replacing party leader Moses Wetang’ula with Athanas Wamunyinyi, and national organising secretary Chris Mandu Mandu with Josephine Maungu. Did the registrar send out a second notice the next day, announcing that three more officials were to be replaced? ‘Disregard fake notice’ As the document spread on Kenyan social media, the registrar said on Twitter that it was fake. Please disregard the fake notice. Authenticate any information through our contact details, the tweet reads. – Grace Gichuhi
