  • An ad for job vacancies at Brava Food Industries Kenya has received attention on Facebook in the country. The ad has been shared multiple times on the same Facebook group with over 43,000 members. It claims Brava is recruiting for various positions, including storekeeper, customer attendants, cleaners, drivers, security guards and distributors. The post urges interested candidates to send their applications to a Gmail email address [email protected] but doesn't give a deadline. The post looks suspiciously like a number of job scams on Facebook Africa Check has previously debunked . But is this job ad genuine? We checked. Red flags There are plenty of clear indications that the ad is fake. For instance, people interested in the jobs are asked to call or send a WhatsApp message to a personal number – an unusual way for any company to recruit staff. The number is provided in the comments section as a reply to those who show interest in the advertised jobs. In the different Facebook posts advertising the same jobs, different phone numbers are used in the comment section. And lastly, the ad asks people to email applications to a Gmail address – nothing like the [email protected] address listed on the company website. Brava not hiring On 21 November 2021, Brava shared the poster on their official Facebook page, making clear the company is not hiring at the moment. Please note the job vacancy application doing rounds on social media is FAKE! Brava Food Industries is not recruiting at the moment and if we do we shall share the job vacancies on our legit social media pages, the post reads . Be warned and pass this round as FAKE! This ad on Facebook is not genuine. For further useful information, read our detailed guide on how to identify job scams. (en)
