  • Constant sex kills coronavirus, reads the text on what seems to be a screenshot of a CNN news report, posted on Facebook and WhatsApp . The screenshot shows US journalist Wolf Blitzer, a CNN anchor, and the network’s logo. Coronaviruses are a group of viruses that cause illnesses ranging from the common cold to more serious diseases. An outbreak of a new coronavirus disease , Covid-19 , was identified in Wuhan , China in late December 2019. Is the screenshot of the CNN broadcast real? We checked. Same screenshot, different text The news that constant sex kills coronavirus can’t be found on the CNN website and has not been reported by any credible news source. And Google and TinEye reverse image searches led us to many other versions of the same screenshot, but with different text – such as Alcohol kills coronavirus or Polish vodka cures coronavirus . It has also been used with the text changed to read : Trump used Russian dressing during campaign. An inset shows a bottle of salad dressing bottle. The screenshot is fake. Dubawa Fact Check rated the claim false on 4 March 2020, making the point that sex is a risk for contracting coronavirus, not a cure. – Motunrayo Joel (en)
