The President Ordered the Firing of Cattle Guards-Fiction! The President Ordered the Firing of Cattle Guards- Fiction! Summary of eRumor: The story claims that the President ordered the firing of more than half the cattle guards in Colorado because Colorado ranchers rejected his changes in grazing policy. It also claims that a Colorado Congress member asked that before any were fired they should be offered retraining. The Truth: There is no truth to this story. It’s a hoax. This story actually began back in the days when Bill Clinton was President but took a new name sometime around April 1, 2010. Cattle guards are not uniformed personnel but metal rails that keeps cows and other large livestock on the ranch and off the roads. updated 06/03/10 Posted in Politics
