The graphic includes the logo of MTN and its tagline everywhere you go. Similar posts leave out the car and offer free airtime only. These posts have been circulating in Uganda. The supposed MTN MoMo promotions have also been posted here , here , here , here and here . But is MTN really giving free airtime and cars to people who send money to their boyfriends? We checked. Ignore fake promotion On 22 September 2022, MTN Uganda posted the graphic on its verified Twitter account, stamped FAKE. The mobile network operator tweeted : Dear #MTNMoMo customers, do not participate in this FAKE promotion. #StopBafere , always check @mtnug and @mtnmomoug official Social Media pages for our official promotions.
