  • This is Enugu, Ekweremadu constituency road, says a post shared on Facebook, with a photo showing vehicles marooned on a muddy, pot-holed road. The post was published on 18 August 2019. The caption says that Ekweremadu deserves more beatings, is responsible for underdevelopment in the region, and that the video clips verify this, though no video is linked to in the post. Ike Ekweremadu is the former deputy senate president of the country. He was elected to the senate in 2003, and faced criticism from his constituents over the years. Photo from another state, not from Ekweremadu’s constituency A reverse image search shows the photo was originally published in an article in This Day , a Nigerian newspaper, on 18 September 2017. The article is titled Deaths Traps in Edo and Delta and the photo of the muddy road is captioned: Onicha-Ugbo road leading to Uromi. Onicha-Ugbo is in Delta state, but Ekweremadu represented Enugu West , a senatorial district in Enugu state. Delta and Enugu states are both in the south of Nigeria, but do not even border one another. They are at least 5 hours apart by road – Motunrayo Joel (en)
