To ensure that auditory stimuli were easily segregated from the scanner noise and TMS clicks we generated an auditory stimulus by adding sinusoidal tones with base frequencies of 130.81 Hz, 164.81 Hz and 196 Hz and the following six terms of their respective geometric progressions (i.e. adding the terms 2n*f, where f represents each of the three base frequencies and 1 ≤ n ≤ 6).
